GIVING BACK
YMCA MISSION
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Annual Community Support Campaign - Be A Hero
The YMCA is full of small moments that lead to big transformation. Grass stains on
as swim lessons begin. Every person deserves to have these moments in life. We’re
stronger together. Behind every success story, there’s a hero who provided support,
guidance, and a caring hand.
In February, the Manatee Family YMCA kicks off our Annual Community Support
Campaign to raise the funds needed to engage and connect all segments of our
community, particularly those in under served and isolated neighborhoods. When
you give to the Y, your generosity reaches children, families and seniors in our
neighborhoods. Your gift will help people achieve their potential, empower people
of all ages to lead healthier lives, and strengthen our community.
Last year more than 1,400 families in Manatee County were able to participate in
Y programs and services through our Community Support Campaign.
Holiday Book Drive
Did you know that 61% of children in Manatee County do not have an age
appropriate book at home? Each year we will be collecting new or nearly
new children’s books to donate to local school children. Our 2019 donated
books was awarded to Rogers Elementary. Books must be suitable for
children ages 5 to 13. Drop off sites, dates, and more information will
be posted by Nov 1. If you are interested in being a drop off site, please
contact Lisa Strutt at lstrutt@manateeymca.org or 941-798-9622 x 104.
