Are for rF you a Ready
l l i
in the
Mountains?
Blue Ridge is officially a four-season destination. Whether you’re visiting in
spring, summer, fall or winter, you’ll find something to do — even if it’s just
relaxing on the deck of your rental cabin with a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
But fall is an especially beautiful time. The mountains are ablaze with color.
The air is full of the sweet smells of the harvest: fresh apple cider and hot fried
pies at the local apple house … a bucket of
sizzling kettle corn at a fall festival … freshly
mown hay in the fields. Blue Ridge, McCays-
ville and the Copper Basin are bustling with
activity as visitors sample our unique shops,
intimate boutiques and distinctive restaurants.
It’s a scene so quaint and picturesque that you may think you’re in Mayberry!
Food, Fun A More!
The mountains are busy with fairs and festivals most every weekend in the
fall. For example, the Home Builders Showcase offers a place for local builders
Ex p lo re!
and craftsmen to show off their talents, while
Arts in the Park features more than 100 arts,
crafts and food booths. You can watch the
pumpkins fly at the annual Punkin Chunkin
Festival in nearby Brasstown, NC, or learn
more about marble at Jasper’s Marble Festival.
And Paws in the Park helps raise much-needed
funds for the local Humane Society. For more
events and things to do, check out the Calendar
of Events on pages 84-87.
