Why should voters in District 3 give you
another term to represent them?
I want to ask the voters in District 3 to go to the
polls and vote for me again so I can continue to
work for them to accomplish more for District 3. I
know what the issues are in our community –
inconsistent city services, high crime, and low
wage jobs. I have worked on these issues by
ensuring that we have more Sky Cop Cameras and
active Neighborhood Watch Groups in District 3;
I've supported hiring more police officers, and I
continue to push for more industry to move in
District 3 to create more job opportunities for
folks living in my district as well as new
amenities like nice family restaurants.
I’ve proven my continued commitment to
education by being a sponsor of the Pre-K
resolution in Shelby County Schools and want to
ensure that we have the proper funding to have a
significant impact on our young people entering
the program. Of course, I would like to see Pre-K
universal, not just needs-based.
I know that more of our homes need to be energy
efficient and I will continue to work with
Memphis Light Gas and Water to secure
additional funding for our weatherization
programs.
I know that I work for the people in District 3 and
that is why I try my best to communicate to them
often, through Town Hall Meetings,
E-Newsletters, and even phone calls when needed
to gain the input of my constituents and let them
know what I'm working on their behalf.
I would like to return to the City Council to
continue the work on behalf of the District 3. As
one of the leaders of the City Council right now,
my experience and influence will yield additional
benefits for District 3 when I'm re-elected. I want
to make sure that the experienced voice continues
to be at the table, sharing your thoughts and
dreams for District 3 and being the conduit to
make sure we deliver for you.
