Historic
Corolla
Village
You might feel you’ve stepped
back in time when visiting
Historic Corolla Village.
Just a short stroll from other
nearby cultural attractions
such as the Currituck Beach
Lighthouse, Whalehead
in Historic
Corolla, and
the Outer
Banks Center
for Wildlife
Education,
the village is a
charming little
community
that includes
quaint shops and restaurants,
many reclaimed and
preserved, reflecting a less
hurried time in Corolla’s past.
This beautiful, pedestrianfriendly
area is home to
historic sites such as the
WEVS schoolhouse (an
operational K-8 school) and
Corolla Chapel. The quiet
streets here, shaded in oak
trees, invite you to browse for
unique items and engage the
friendly shop owners, who
will openly share their stories
of local history. In short,
whether you’re interested
in shopping or just out for
a pleasant walk, Historic
Corolla Village will give you
a sense of what life was like
here in simpler times.
6 On the Beach
Unique
Shopping Stately live oak trees line narrow streets
and unpaved roads where homes dating
from the late 19th to early 20th century
are now shops and businesses supplying
everything from books to barbecue to
the latest fashion.
