Vote REALTOR® Party
this November
REALTOR® Emma Reichert among
the candidates up for election
ORRA is pleased to
recommend REALTOR®
Emma Reichert to
election for City of
Oviedo Mayor along with
additional candidates
running for public office.
The municipal elections will be held on
Tuesday, November 6, 2019.
The REALTOR® organization recommends
candidates who are sensitive to
issues related to real estate, homeownership,
and private property rights. In addition,
the association considers support of
issue campaigns that address the rights of
the property owners and/or improves the
quality of life within our region.
ORRA recommended candidates are:
• City of Orlando Mayor – Buddy Dyer;
• Orlando City Council, District 2 - Tony
Ortiz;
• Orlando City Council, District 4 - Patty
Sheehan;
• Orlando City Council, District 6 - Gary
Siplin; and
• City of Oviedo Mayor - REALTOR®
Emma Reichert.
ORRA considers candidates based on
his or her past voting record and/or sensitivity
to real estate issues. Candidates
are invited to participate in a screening
process by the ORRA Candidate Screening
Subcommittee, which then makes
candidate recommendations to the ORRA
Board of Directors for final approval.
ORRA-supported candidates who
accept political action committee (PAC)
funds are eligible to receive contributions
from the REALTORS® Political Action Committee
for use in their campaign.

ORRA past president Bob Caldwell
named Humanitarian of the Year
Florida Realtors® recognizes Caldwell for his many years of extraordinary
efforts to be of service to hurricane victims and others in need
Proving that REALTORS® make
a difference, ORRA Past President
Robert W. “Bob” Caldwell III,
Caldwell Realty Services, has
been named 2019 Humanitarian
of the Year by Florida Realtors®. In
addition to a long history of leadership
with the association, Bob
is a 2018 ORRA Good Neighbor
Award recipient. He is currently
chairman of the Orlando Regional
REALTOR® Foundation Board of
Trustees and oversees its Heroes'
Commons at Jefferson Park veterans'
Bob Caldwell, Florida Realtors® President Eric Sain
housing initiative.
The Humanitarian of the Year award,
which was presented in August during
the Florida Realtors® Convention and
Expo, recognizes a REALTOR® whose
service activities identify them as compassionate,
involved, and sympathetic
community members.
“Bob exemplifies grace and concern
for others in all that he does as a leader
of the REALTOR® organization, as a real
estate professional, and as a part of his
every day code of living,” says ORRA
President Jeffrey M. Fagan, Watson
Realty Corp. “I cannot think of another
person who is more deserving of recognition
for his volunteer efforts on behalf
of all REALTORS®.”
For years, Bob has been the
REALTOR® to call when it comes to
the aftermath of hurricanes and other
natural disasters. He’s one of the first
to respond and run to the area to see
how he and other REALTORS® can help:
He rallies the troops, picks up supplies,
helps with cleanup, and does whatever
else is needed to help in the recovery
efforts.
Within the first days after Hurricane
Michael hit the Panhandle on Oct. 10,
2018, Bob was packing his truck and
calling REALTOR® volunteers to join him
in taking relief supplies to the area. He
and the other volunteers drove seven
hours to offer their help, remaining in
the area for four days with little sleep
and virtually no access to electricity.
Once he returned to Orlando, Bob
knew help was still needed, so he
organized a second trip to the Panhandle
to help Floridians there who were
homeless, had no power and no access
to clean water.
Bob also volunteered with recovery
efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane
Katrina in 2005 and was instrumental in
organizing the National Association of
REALTORS’® Habitat for Humanity build
of 52 homes in New Orleans just before
the NAR annual convention there during
the same year. In the past, he has served
as a trustee on Florida Realtors® Disaster
Relief Fund and is currently in his second
term as a trustee for NAR’s REALTOR®
Relief Foundation.
