When my Father and uncle were younger they use to work on cars with
my grandfather in their garage.
Since we moved around so much due to my father being in the navy I wanted
to do something that we both could enjoy. I’ve always like the 1st generation
Camaro’s the best, so that is what I was looking for. I found one in Texas
about 15 minutes from my Uncle, so I had him take a look at it, he noticed
right away it was poorly restored. I wasn’t looking for a show car but I wanted
one that was a driver. About a week later I found this one in Daytona Beach
at Hanksters Hot Rods and Muscle Cars. I had my father drive out and take
a look at it and ultimately settled on the ‘68 Camaro with a 350 5.7L V8 in it.
tires in the back and extremely thin tires in the front. My goal was to get it to
almost as stock as possible with changing Many of the component. Through
a few friends of mine I was referred to Darrel and his team at Main Street Automotive
in Lakeland. I got in touch with him and explained what I was looking
for and we started to get the parts together.
