Be a Citizen Advocate!
NCRGEA Advocacy Tool Kit
Congratulations! You’re now more empowered than ever to be a citizen advocate and stand
up for all retirees in North Carolina.
Here are tools you can use to help share NCRGEA’s message “that elected offi cials from
the local to state level need to keep their promise to retirees to improve the quality of life for
you – the retiree”.
If you have not joined our online petition through Facebook or our NCRGEA website
www.ncrgea.com, you can join this effort by mail. Just fi ll out the petition on the back of
this page and mail to NCRGEA so that you can be counted. Included are two letters we
encourage you to send to your local newspaper(s) or to your elected offi cials. One is for
local government retirees – the other is for state government retirees. On the NCRGEA
website is an expanded toolkit with guides on how to best connect with elected offi cials, as
well as other helpful material.
As we begin our largest call to action on behalf of local and state government retirees,
please join us in spreading the word. Encourage your friends and family members who
retired from local or state government service to go online at www.ncrgea.com to sign
our petition. We need as many signatures as possible and will submit these petitions to
government associations, the Governor, and legislative leadership among others to show
our strength in numbers. The more signatures we have, the greater our impact will be.
