The tallest accessible and oldest accessible lighthouses
on the Great Lakes are within 1 mile of each other on this
peninsula. Explore the 1905 House, located on the grounds
at the New Presque Isle Lighthouse or climb the tower of
the tallest accessible lighthouse on the Great Lakes.
The Old Presque Isle Lighthouse, the oldest accessible
lighthouse on the Great Lakes was built in 1840, and is
reportedly haunted by a ghost named George.

The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center interprets the
maritime history of the region. Thunder Bay, also known
as Shipwreck Alley, is home to Thunder Bay National
sanctuary, protecting more than 100 shipwrecks. You can
see shipwreck artifacts from various wrecks. Or, take a trip
aboard the Lady Michigan glass-bottom boat and see
remnants of shipwrecks with your own eyes.
