A Letter from Dr. Loden...
It’s hard to believe we are halfway through the second semester. This year has continued to show the great
work our students and staff are capable of and it has been an honor to get to know them and the
community more in my second year as superintendent.
In the next few months, our focus will be on finishing strong in our daily
curriculum plans as well as putting an appropriate focus on the MAP and EOC
tests that our students will take to give us one measurement on how our students
are doing.
Or district is supportive of our community’s participation in the 2020 Census.
When our community has a high participation rate, it means that we maximize
potential funds we receive from the federal government instead of being diverted
to other communities. So, please be sure to complete the 2020 Census survey!
I am excited to highlight our teacher of the year, support staff of the year,
volunteer of the year, and the finalists for each at the yearly Nixa Education
Foundation Gala in May. These people represent and serve our district so well,
and it is great to highlight people in these categories each year. It is also a great
night to celebrate the giving back that NEF does for the district through its
awards and grants.
If you haven’t been able to attend one of our Learning With Loden monthly
topics, I invite you to visit www.nixapublicschools.net/learningwithloden to see
short recap videos about the presented topics. We know everyone cannot
attend, so we hope that this will serve as a way to get updates on these
informative topics.
As we enter the severe weather season, make sure and take note of the four
FEMA safe rooms in the district. It is best to be prepared now and not in the
middle of a tornado warning. The locations are listed here
nixapublicschools.net/tornado
Spring also brings a chance to celebrate a lot of state contests for our academic
programs. I am excited to see their amazing results as they represent Nixa well.
And, finally, I look forward to celebrating the culmination of 13 years of hard
work as we all join together to honor our graduates in May. This is always one of
my favorite times of the year as the hard work and dedication of our students are
showcased as they move on to a new chapter in their lives.
