living residents of the Town of Bethlehem age 60 and older.

The Youth Employment Service is a free year round community service that matches youth ages 14-21 with
residents or businesses that need part time help.

Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Days are held in the spring and fall during which the
Highway Garage accepts cleaners, paints, thinners and solvents, and other household hazardous wastes along
with electronics for recycling or safe disposal. Community Recycling Stations are in place for paper/cardboard,
clothing and textiles, and other items.

A restorative justice diversion program serving youthful offenders and the community. BYC also provides
valuable volunteer opportunities for students in the court and can provide local organizations with adolescent
volunteers for both short-term and long-term projects.

Provides students with an opportunity to be a part of something larger than themselves while learning about
the community they live in, exercising citizenship, and exploring careers and the services community businesses
provide. Participation in programs such as these allow students to experience job-shadowing and on-the-job
training in the workplace specific to an area of their interest in one or more industries. Local businesses are
encouraged to host student interns supporting the local school district which builds a strong community for our
students.
