gala, Gaudiosa: An Evening
in the Holy Land, was a
spectacular success on
February 22, raising an
event-record of more than
$815,000!
As always, all proceeds
from Gaudiosa go toward
aid program. For 2020-21,
Jesuit has committed a
record $3.2 million in
student body. With this
year's total of $815,000
has exceeded $800,000
raised – Gaudiosa, under the
direction of award-winning
special events coordinator
Jane Younger, now has
generated more than $5
million over the past seven
years – all for Jesuit students
need.

dinner, student musicians,
beautiful murals created by
Jesuit's AP Art students, live
music with the band Finesse,
and dancing.
Student speaker Oscar
, who was in
attendance along with his
parents, Oscar Lopez and
Aida Alayon, provided the
most impactful moment of
the night. Lopez spoke of the
extraordinary brotherhood and
mentoring he has experienced
at Jesuit – which would not
have been possible without
return someday as a Spanish
teacher.
Among the hundreds who
donated to Gaudiosa 2020 and
made it a huge success were
the event's Grand Gaudiosa
Underwriters ($25,000): Pat

A Latin term meaning "joyous
feast," Gaudiosa has been
named the region's Favorite
Fundraising Event four times
by the Tampa Bay Business
Journal. Bringing together
the entire, fabulous event
is Younger, who has been
named the area's Favorite
Event Planner four times
by the TBBJ, and a team of
planning committee members
Gaudiosa's patrons,
sponsors, and guests provide
year, Gaudiosa proceeds are
providing about 1/4th of the
aid disbursement. In recent
years, Gaudiosa also has
featured the announcement of
transformational capital gifts,
such as a $2 million Arts Center
donation in 2019 from Ron
