more leniency. Your hope is that
once they get into a rehab program,
something will click, and they’ll want
to stay free.”
Steve picked Alston up from the
Toombs County jail and took him
straight to the 24/7 House in Baxley,
which is a faith-based residential
recovery facility. After six months
in their program, he went through
a second rehab program at Hudson
Hill Outreach Ministries in McRae,
Georgia, which is a long-term
Christian drug and alcohol program
for men. At the end of a year at
Hudson Hill Outreach Ministries,
Alston was ready to come home. More
importantly, he was committed to
walk out his own freedom. That was
two years ago.
