how to navigate
Historic Savannah
1. Photo opportunities are abundant,
but please stay off the monuments and
landscaped areas.
2. Don't forget to pay the meters. The
ParkSavannah app can be downloaded
and used for numbered spaces. Street
parking is free on Sundays. There are
parking garages in the historic district with
pay for parking seven days a week.
3. There are one-way streets throughout
the Historic District running north, south,
east and west. Take heed!
4. Historic Savannah is a very walkable
city. There is a free DOT Express Shuttle
that makes a loop around 12 stops and
runs every 10 minutes.
5. Savannah is very pet friendly including
outdoor seated restaurants, many with
water bowls outside. Animals are required
to be on a leash and owners are required
to clean up. Squares are equipped with
disposal cans.
6. To-Go Cups: In Savannah you are
allowed to possess alcohol outdoors as
long as it is in a 16 ounces or less plastic
container - absolutely no glass. To-Go
Cups are only permitted from River Street
Broad Street.
