The Ed Metz Jazz Trio, featuring bassist and vocalist Nicki Parrott, pianist Rossano
Sportiello and drummer Eddie Metz Jr., return to South Florida State College by audience
demand! Metz has toured with the Count Basie Orchestra, the Bill Allred Classic
Jazz Band, the Les Brown Orchestra and many others. Metz has also worked with such
greats as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Arturo Sandoval, Sammy Davis, Jr., Rosemary
Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Chick Corea, and Patti Page. He continues to record with
top jazz artists and perform at jazz festivals and events around the world.
Australian Nikki Parrott began performing with legendary guitarist Les Paul at the
Iridium Jazz Club in NYC. As part of the Les Paul Trio, Nicki worked with Tommy Emmanuel,
Paul McCartney, Clark Terry, Bucky and John Pizzarelli, Harry Allen, Scott Hamilton,
Dick Hyman and Patti LaBelle just to name a few. She headlined at the famed Fujitsu
Concorde Jazz festival in 2012 and continues to perform around the globe.
Award winning jazz pianist Rossano Sportiello hails from Italy where he studied classical
piano. By age 16 he was performing at Milan jazz clubs. Hailed as “one of the best
stride piano players,” Rossano is in great demand in venues such as Lincoln Center,
the Blue Note, Carnegie Hall, the 92nd Street Y and Feinstein’s.
