Charlotte Stant Continues on Path to Success
BY LORI DRAZ
In August 2020, Teen Scene readers met author Charlotte Stant who discussed
families dealing with food insecurity and citizenship status. Her story also focused
on living with a hearing disability and her commitment that her disability
would not hold her back from achieving anything she set her mind to. Since
then, the 18-year-old high school senior from Fair Haven has been racking up
applicants nationwide as a “Brawny Giant” by the Brawny Paper Towel company
This April, Stant went to the Dunkin’ in Fair Haven where she was presented
-
Foundation donation. At the time of this writing, the organization has served
more than 150,000 meals and raised more than $75,000 since last April.
This honor from Dunkin’ followed the fundraising efforts of Katherine Raftery,
of The Raftery Team-Weichert Rumson, who donated $1,240 in proceeds
Haven also made a donation following a holiday event. But Stant wasn’t quite
done. She recently accepted an invitation from Boston University to be a Trustee
Scholar. This distinction is only offered to 20 students every year (out of 11,000
applications) and includes a scholarship for all tuition and fees for four years. She
will attend the Pardee School of Global Studies with a dual major in international
relations and Spanish.
