Colts Neck Wrestler Logan Waller
Claims Region Championship

Last year, Colts Neck wrestler Logan
Waller captured the District 22 championship
but settled for a silver at
the Region 6 tournament. Now in his
senior year, he was determined to take
Region gold.
COVID-19 restrictions mandated the
elimination of the District tournaments
and further collapsed the Regional competitions
which elevated the level of
the challenge, the 145-pound grappler
went on to claim the Region title.
Waller began his trek through the
tourney brackets with a pin of St. Joseph’s Richard Davis at 2:26 in the
opening round. Although the match lacked the excitement of a hotly
contested bout, it was monumental as Waller’s 100th career victory,

“Logan has been the absolute leader
of the program,” stated ninth year Head
Coach Brett Jankos. “His commitment to
the sport is evident every time he steps on
the mat. He has had an incredible career
as a Cougar wrestler.”

Senior Raymond Santiago captured a bronze at the Regions at 220
pounds. Junior heavyweight Matt Jannucci has shown consistent improvement
during the season and rallied from a No. 10 seed to a fourth-
