TheJournalNJ.com | JUNE 2021 27
Monmouth County Historical Association (MCHA) has announced
plans to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11,
2001 terrorist attacks and to honor the members of the Monmouth
County community who lost their lives that day.
The exhibit will be staged at the Taylor-Butler House in Middletown,
an MCHA historic home built in 1853, from Saturday, Sept. 11 through
October 2021. Additional details are still forthcoming, and the MCHA is
gathering oral histories, documents and ephemera. They invite everyone
to share their unique reminiscences of how this day impacted them.
Material gathered will be included in the MCHA archives in Freehold to
ensure perpetual remembrance. If you would like to share your stories or
donate items to the MCHA archives, contact Guest Curator Melissa Ziobro,
specialist professor of Public History at Monmouth University, by emailingmziobro@
monmouth.edu or Linda W. Bricker, president of the MCHA
Board of Trustees at lwbricker@monmouthhistory.org.
