Lilly Shapiro Leads Colts Neck Girls to State Title

The Colts Neck girls’ track team has
won NJSIAA State Sectional titles in
the past, but never went on to win
the NJSIAA Group title. This was a history
making year for the Cougars as they
at a two-day meet held on June 11 and
12 in Pennsauken.

was provided by Lilly Shapiro,
who claimed a pair of individual wins

the victory. Grace Suhocki performed the
lead-off duties followed by Kylie Jacoutot
and Kelsey Nager taking the second
and third legs. Shapiro anchored the
winning quartet, posting a 57:71 split.
Success was encountered again in
the 4x800-meter relay with Summit
coming up as second best. Ava Wilmot
led off and Shapiro anchored. Completing
the gold winning quartet were
freshmen Ashley Pavlosky and Olivia
Petschauer. All four runners will be returning
next season.
Colts Neck annexed the team title
(30) and Northern Valley (29).
Also scoring for Colts Neck in individual events were Kavita Shah
(third in 3,200 meters), Grace Suhocki (fourth in 400-meter hurdles),
