nal. On June 12, the Cougars defeated Steinert by a lopsided 10-1 tally
to claim the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 3 championship. It was the
Steinert entered the game with an 18-4 record and ranked No.
12 statewide by NJ.com. However, the Trojans had no solution for
handling the pitching of ace hurler Ava Metzger; she struck out 16
consecutive batters and had a perfect game at hand when she took
the mound for the sixth inning.
