August
The heat is on, and I’m not just talking about the temperature.
August is a blur for most of us. Everyone is rushing to cram in that
beach day, take a summer vacation, have some fun at our many enter-
that book, cook up farm-fresh fruits and vegetables – and I’m just getting
started.
There are also so many families who are getting ready for the
new school year. That is a whole other list of must-dos. Parents are
buying clothing, scheduling medical appointments, upgrading electronics,
and for the college-bound crew, there’s even more to do.
August is busy, and we hope we can help you get the most out
of it. We are proud to share our annual Back to School Guide with
Guide features articles full of helpful information as you plan your
school year ahead. We salute the teachers and students of our area
who make us so proud with their accomplishments in the classroom,
in the community and in sports.
Speaking of sports, The Journal is also excited to announce that

coming September Journal. This guide celebrates the teams and student
athletes as well as their many sponsors who keep them going
throughout the season. If you would like to showcase your team or
business in our new guide, contact Director of Sales Patrick Collins

sey Shore which is back in a big way this year. We’ll meet two dedicated
lifeguards in our Teen Scene column, recap some of the Fourth of
July and summer events that also returned this year as well as share
many more exciting events still ahead. We have been thrilled to see
your summer fun pictures, and we encourage you to keep sharing
them to our busy social media pages. Most importantly, we thank you
for patronizing our many valued advertisers. They represent some of
recovery of the shore.
Summer is in full swing and I, along with the staff of The Journal,
hope that your summer is full of happy times and sunny fun. Be safe,
be patient, be well and be a part of this incredible area we are proud
to call home.
