Holmdel Girls Soccer Extends Winning Streak

In 2020, the Holmdel girls’ soccer team enjoyed a perfect season, posting
a 15-0 undefeated record. The Hornets have begun their fall campaign,
extending the win streak to 18 with three victories, outscoring opponents
by a 15-1 margin.
Holmdel opened with a 5-0 road win over St. Rose on Sept. 7. Senior
forward Katie Vassilakos led the squad with a hat trick. Izabella DeMatos and
Lily Reardon both contributed a goal and an assist. Junior forward Taylor
Bielan posted a pair of assists.
Two days later, Monmouth Regional fell victim in the home opener by
an identical 5-0 tally. Vassilakos once again paced the unit with two goals.
