Launches 2021 Campaign with a Victory

Radical actions were needed to produce a turnaround,
and eighth-year Head Coach Melissa Murphy opted for a youth
movement as the solution. This season, a large contingent of
young players joined the ranks of a squad looking forward to a
successful campaign.

Senior Ashley Barbarino and sophomore Angelina Petriello
paced the offense with each scoring two goals. Freshman mid-
varsity outing. Defender Isabella Ji closed out the scoring with one
goal. Junior Brianna Cabunag and freshman Tessa Pinnero both
recorded assists.
By the numbers, the squad is young, with rostered freshmen
outnumbering seniors by more than a 2:1 ratio. Freshmen expected to
see action are Pinnero, Viole, forward Ava Munafo, defender Sydney Way
Flaherty, forward Angelina Petriello and sweeper Rachel Quirk.
Captains named for the 2021 Hornets are seniors Barbarino, Ji and
Madison Yan.
