Whys & Wherefores
We are subscribers and attend end all
the Artist shows. We hate to see empty
seats. Can’t you give those seats s to
students?
Thank you for subscribing. We hate to see empty ty seats,
too. However, an empty seat might be a sold seat t and and
the
patron simply didn’t attend the show. SFSC students have
the privilege of receiving complimentary tickets for many of
our performances.
This season we implemented a Teacher Rush ticket
program for educator’s with a valid school ID. Teachers
receive a 50% discount for select performances that are
announced on the website at sfscarts.org/box-office/
teacher. Teacher Rush Seats are not available online and
can be purchased only the night of show at the SFSC Box
Office.
Why don’t you book more Broadway
shows? Why don’t you book less
Broadway shows?
Both questions usually show up on every survey. The first
consideration in booking a national Broadway tour is the
calendar. Is the tour coming during our peak presenting
months of January, February or March and is the Wildstein
Center available on that date? The second factor is the
shows that are on tour. Would Waitress, Beetlejuice, or
Chicago appeal to our market? The third concern is the
cost of the production. The average cost for one night of
a Broadway tour is $65,000 or more, so it’s a challenge
to book more than one or two Broadway tours during our
limited season.
