Glenda: Young for my age at 71 and one who

Lenda: My husband has {PSP} Progressive
Supranuclear Palsy.
Vince: I am a philanthropist.
Glenda: Lenda and I look alike, but have
different personalities.
What are your favorite words of wisdom?
Lenda: Do not let the behavior of others destroy
loves to have fun.
What is your fondest memory?
Lenda: Announcing at a Georgette’s fashion show
that we got a Major League Baseball team.
Vince: Getting a scholarship to attend Notre
Dame University.
Glenda: Living in Hawaii and Islamabad,
Pakistan with my husband Capt. James
E. Young and our daughter Glenna.
What would you like to do that you
have never done?
Lenda: Parachute from an airplane.
Vince: Go into Space.
Glenda: Travel to New Zealand.
What would you like to be able to do that you can’t do?
Lenda: Be a country singer.
Vince: Be a Notre Dame football star.
Glenda: Be a CIA Agent.
Vince Joseph Naimoli was born in Paterson, New
Jersey. He attended Notre Dame on a Navy ROTC
scholarship and earned double masters degrees. He has
been CEO of Anchor Glass and has served other fortune
500 corporations. Known as a turnaround specialist, he
transformed struggling organizations into successful
entities. Vince brought the Tampa Bay Rays to our area
through his “never give up” philosophy. He serves as
chairman or participant on several financial, athletic and
academic committees and has been named a Florida
Entrepreneur of the Year. As a champion of higher
independent education in Florida, he has received the
New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Outstanding
Alumnus Award, the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of
Honor, Fairleigh Dickinson University Charter Day
Award, the first Bridging the Bay Award, an Honorary
Doctorate from NJIT, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice and other
recognition of his achievements. A member of the
National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, Vince is
married to Lenda. They have four daughters and five
grandsons.
Lenda and her twin sister Glenda were born in
Lexington, North Carolina. They became stewardesses
for Eastern Airlines. Glenda, who is the youngest by 14
minutes, got married after flying for two years to Navy
Captain James E. Young. They lived around the world,
had one daughter and three grandchildren. After 43 years
of marriage, Glenda has been a widow for six years.
Lenda, who met her husband Vince on an airplane, says,
“I poured the right Coke.” Both Lenda and Glenda enjoy
doing volunteer work at Moffitt Cancer Center with its
Pet Therapy Program, as well as working on fashion
shows and with the Joshua House and the Red Cross.
What is your favorite word?
Lenda: Gratitude.
Vince: WORK.
Glenda: Happiness.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Lenda: My husband Vince told me to stay with
Eastern Airlines to earn my retirement.
Vince: The key to success is hard work.
Glenda: Don’t take yourself so seriously. Have a sense
of humor.
