Flower Powered
Garden Party
The Dunedin Fine Art Center in Dunedin celebrated 40 years of “planting seeds of creativity” in the community by
holding its 35th annual Garden Party inside the newly expanded Art Center, rather than at a private home. The Garden
Party’s “Flower Power” theme was enhanced by both the decorations and the 1970’s-inspired outfits worn by many of the
guests. Executive director George Ann Bissett and board president Walter Blenner thanked guests for helping the Dunedin
Fine Art Center fuel “the best youth and adult arts education in Greater Tampa Bay and in the state of Florida.”
Board member Cindy Gorshe Collman and her
husband Rod Collman, the architect for the
original Art Center, plus its expansions, enjoyed
the “indoor” Garden party.
Kathy Milam, a member of the Dunedin Fine
Art Center’s board, and her husband Rowland
helped sponsor the “Flower Power”-themed
benefit that was held there.
Jane Strong, co-founder of Happy Feet Plus,
and Jeff Thomas were impressed with the
Dunedin Fine Art Center’s newly expanded
space and quality shows.
Mario Gutierrez, whose Art Smart gallery
provided its famous iced coffee for the event,
and his son Max were dressed in their new
“Picasso” T-shirts.
Former Dunedin City Commissioner
Ron Barnette and his wife Candy helped
sponsor the Art Center’s annual fundraiser
of art, entertainment and tastes.
Tim Mariani and his wife Carol, who is one
of the Art Center’s board members, were
impressed with the donated art that was
in the benefit’s silent auction.
