It was my privilege to again chair the Foundation’s Love Lights Tree Lighting Celebration and year-end giving campaign. I’m delighted to
share that through the generosity and support of our local community, the 37th annual Love Lights program exceeded fundraising goals set
by our committee for 2019.
Love Lights allows community members to purchase lights in honor or in memory of friends, co-workers,
loved ones, and even cherished family pets. Love Lights donations benefit patients in Hamilton’s Home
Health, Hospice, and Cancer patient programs who are in need of financial assistance. Our goal is to
ensure that patients’ basic life needs are met and they have the necessary support to live as comfortably
as possible. I am grateful for the generosity of our families, friends, and neighbors who provide these
meaningful tribute gifts each year, which in turn improve the lives of others.
As each year passes, the celebration continues to evolve as colorful lights are added to the campus, a new
group of happy school carolers entertains us, and traditional cookies and hot cocoa cap off the evening. This
past year, for the first time ever, Mrs. Claus joined Santa for the occasion. In addition, Hamilton hosted a
holiday crafts table and an official new Love Lights tree was planted on the hill overlooking the plaza. Seeing
the new evergreen shining brightly made me realize how much I love Dalton and this wonderful tradition at
Hamilton.
I invite you to mark your calendars for Thursday, November 19, 2020, as we celebrate this year’s Love
Lights. Let’s commit to assisting more patients and their families with our donations. I can’t wait to see you
at Hamilton this November! I promise it’s a celebration not to miss.
