“n a way this rink kind of saved me,” he noted. “ feel indebted
to my players, because if it wasn’t for them really wouldn’t
have had anything to grasp onto.”
es and his colleagues also are grateful to the Lightning’s
community development eorts to run clinics and a youth program
that encourages involvement and helps defray the costs of
hockey.
“My job,” es said, “is to keep them skang aer they nished
with the Lightning’s program.”
es is eually ecited about another program that began in
ctober and is labeled ntroducon to Hockey.
“t’s kind of a bridge program,” es said, describing it as a
transion between learn to skate and playing in leagues. “Sort of
like hockey 101 with a focus on skang.”
es said that program is primarily for ages 4-8.
