MARIA BJÖRNSON, 1949-2002 (Costume
Designer). In 1990, she was awarded The
Observer’s Experts’ Expert, the Theatre
Designers’ Designer and in 1999, the 19th
Franco Abbiati Prize. She received numerous
awards for The Phantom of the Opera designs,
two Tony® Awards, two Outer Critics’ Circle
Awards, two Drama Critics’ Awards, for Best
Costume and Set. Musical theatre also includes:
