SPECIAL SERVICES
Most special services are available at no extra cost for
residents with city waste collection. Pickups are normally
request these services.
Construction material is not collected from the curb. It can be
taken to the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station at
1550 Old Frankfort Pike. Find more information at
LexingtonKY.gov/TransferStation.
Cart assistance
If you are unable to roll your carts to the curb, you
may qualify for assistance. Call LexCall 311 or visit
LexingtonKY.gov/Trash to get a medical exemption form.
Appliances
Appliances collected at the curb include:
+ refrigerators*
+ freezers*
+ stoves
* State law requires doors be removed from refrigerators and freezers.
Small appliances and other electronics can be taken to
the Electronics Recycling Center (see the E-Waste and
Events tab).
+ Paint
– Latex paint that is still usable can be donated
to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Visit
LexHabitat.org/ReStore for details.
– Lead paint can only be disposed of at a household
hazardous waste collection event (see the E-Waste
and Events tab).

curb next to your green trash cart. The lid should be
on but not sealed.
Trash
+ washers and dryers
+ water heaters
+ furnaces
+ Pet waste
Pick up after your pet on walks and in your yard. Pet waste
washes into storm drains and pollutes local waterways.
Double bag pet waste and place it in your green trash cart.
