New Brewery
in a Living Room Atmosphere
It is good to be a beer drinker in Tampa Bay, and
with the explosion of craft breweries in Tampa, it is
only getting better. Consistently ranked among the
top brewing scenes in America, Tampa has quickly
become a destination for craft beer. Although craft
brewing has only become popular over the last ten
years, Tampa has been creating beer since 1896.

A lot has changed since the early days, and Tampa
has evolved into a national craft beer lovers’ spot
to beercation. Tampa will be the home to a new
brewery this spring. If you have been to Channel
District in the past 7-8 years, you have likely already
been a customer at the place that’s bringing the
new brewery to the area.

Later this year, Pour House will be opening a
brewery on location in partnership with Late Start
Brewing. Initially, the new brewery will be creating
Late Start Brewing beer, but expect to be drinking

addition of Late Start Brewery certainly continues to
develop the destination Tampa has for craft beer.
Pour House Founder Andy Nietzel is excited about
the changes and anyone who has followed Pour
House from the beginning knows that change is

What has remained consistent, though, is the fact
that Pour House is a local stomping ground where
neighbors come together. “It’s just a local hangout
with craft beer without the misconceptions that a
bar normally has,” Nietzel said. “It’s more about
friends, family and community than a round of
shots.”
The Early Days
Pour House is one of Channelside’s OGs, bringing
folks together long before talks of Water Street
sparked excitement and hope for a more enriching
downtown experience. In its early days, Pour House
the new residential area being built, called Channel
District. Nietzel laughs when he recalls the story of
