Handmade Gifts
To Brighten
The Holidays!
CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT
Directions:
To get started with the Christmas Tree ornament, rst use
the green marker to color three crafts sticks on the front
and back.
Then, use the glue to adhere the pieces together into the
shape of a triangle. Simply place a dot of glue in each corner.
Next, cut a sparkly fuzzy stick into three pieces. One small
piece for the top (2 inches), one medium piece for the
middle ( inches), one large piece for the bottom (5 inches).
Then, have your child pick out pony beads to be placed
along the sparkly pieces. We strung one on the top, three
in the middle, and ve on the bottom. Glue these pieces
onto the triangle shape at an angle like garland on a tree.
Be sure to press the pieces down into the glue and allow
this to dry completely.
Once the triangle and the fuzzy sticks are set, cut a piece
of ribbon and tie it into a hoop. Next, run this through the
top of the tree shape and loop, nishing by placing the star
sticker on top.
Are you looking for Handmade Gifts for your children to
give to family and friends this holiday season?
Throughout the years, we have added items like homemade
decorations to presents or have had the kids gift them
individually. It really is a sweet item to receive, and my children
love the idea of giving something they made to others.
Well if you are thinking along the same lines for this year,
I have two handmade ornament activities that are easy for
kids to create and require minimum effort and supplies.
To create these crafts, you will need the following:
- Pony beads
- 6 Jumbo craft sticks
- 2 Silver fuzzy sticks (pipe cleaners)
- 9 White fuzzy Sticks (pipe cleaners)
- Star foam sticker
- White ribbon
- Glue
- Green marker
- Safety scissors
Tip: Most of these items can be located at a local craft store.
SNOWFLAKE ORNAMENT
Directions:
To get started with the Snowake, rst wrap three craft
sticks with white fuzzy sticks. You will need three fuzzy
sticks per craft stick and it is ne to let the wood of the stick
show through.
Then, glue these three pieces together into the shape of
a snowake. Be generous with the glue and allow it to dry
completely.
To nish, wrap a piece of silver fuzzy stick around the middle
of the snowake and attach a piece of looped ribbon to
the top by wrapping one of the white pieces of fuzzy stick
around it.
These holiday presents are then ready to be gifted to
family and friends, to be displayed on a door, a hook, or a
Christmas tree in their home.
