Superhero Puppy Raisers
Raise a Puppy, Change a Life!
“Aww!” It’s every person’s natural response when they
come across a Southeastern Guide Dogs puppy.
From the big, expressive eyes and downy soft ears
to the oversized paws and happily wagging tail - it’s enough to
make your heart melt. Of course, it’s impossible to decide which
pup is the cutest. here are the sleek abrador etrievers, uffy
Golden Retrievers and wavy-coated Goldadors (a Golden/Lab
mix, ttingly nicknamed “Goldadorables.”
However, these precious pups aren’t your everyday pets. Of
the highest pedigree, these future guide and service dogs are
specially bred by a world-class team of geneticists for a noble
mission: to transform the lives of the visually impaired and
disabled veterans across the nation.
In fact, some might say these rst-class canines aren’t really
dogs at all - they are budding superheroes. But before they can
start saving lives, these special puppies need everyday people
like you to help raise them. With a slew of brand-new puppies
on the way, Southeastern Guide Dogs needs foster families now
more than ever.
“We are about to have a ‘puppy palooza’ of births in our Whelping
Center,” explains Ruth Lando, Manager of Media Relations for
Southeastern Guide Dogs. “We are going to need hundreds of
volunteer puppy raisers to be foster parents to them from about
10 weeks to 16 months when they return to campus for their
formal training.”
