Valley Authority (TVA), the Southeast Industrial Development
Association (SEIDA) and the Blue Ridge Mountain Electric
Membership Corporation (BRMEMC), the UCDA can arrange
low-cost financing and grant/loan packages for companies
interested in bringing business to Union County.
Business Incentives Available
Additional incentives include Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB)
financing, which can be issued for project-related costs of land,
facilities, machinery and equip ment. Tax abatements may also be
available if a company chooses to finance all or part of its project
with IRBs. Meanwhile, the Freeport Exemption allows raw
materials, goods-in-process and finished goods bound for outof
state shipment to be exempt from county ad valorem taxes.
The State of Georgia offers at least a dozen tax and financial
incentives, while Union County offers eight additional incentives.
