A pie in the sky idea? Hardly
Billy Fallen used to make bread, and
now he has a new venture on the rise.
It started out at Triple Crossing
Brewing Co. and expanded to local grocery
shops such as Ellwood Thompson
and Union Market.
However, a slice of Billy Pie can be
found fresh from the oven at his new
restaurant on Patterson Ave near
University of Richmond.
Fallen believes the position of the
store and the proximity to a university
will keep the business busy.
“You really can’t beat the visibility
and the surrounding density with U of R
nearby.” Fallen said in an interview with
Richmond Bizsense.
Although not wood-fired like his
dough in Shockoe Bottom, Fallen still
keeps things heated with a gas-fired
oven in Billy Pie. Among those things are
seven pizzas and four antipasti dishes.
They also sell three salads, cannoli and
Aziza-original cream puffs made by
Billy’s mom.
Manager Dylan Maddox believes
everyone should try the classic white
pizza, the meatball antipasti and definitely
Rusty’s cream puffs.
If that’s not enough to whet the
palate, local brews such as Falcon
Smash from Triple Crossing Brewing Co.
are on tap.
Billy Pie is open everyday except
from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., except Sunday.
Visit billpie.com for details.
