Navy Veteran Running Around the
World Makes Stop in Cherokee County
As of June 11, 2019, Navy Veteran Dusn
Johnson was 990 miles into a run around
the world. His run, which is dedicated to
suicide awareness and prevenon in the military
and by veterans, began in St. ouis, Missouri,
and will take him from ocean to ocean, across
four connents, for a total of 16,00 miles.
On May 1, 2019, the Cherokee Sheri’s
Oce learned that Johnson would be
running through Cherokee County. He made
it to Veterans ark in Canton where he slept
overnight. Depues from the Freehome recinct
were there to see him o at daylight the
following morning and brought him a few days’
worth of drinks and supplies to help him on his
ourney.
Sheri Frank Reynolds wanted to make sure
Johnson got any support he needed and was
safe while in Cherokee County. Depues gave
Johnson a police escort to the county line.
