Shaken, Stirred, on Tap
Meet Drum & Quill
Hidden among the golf courses and tall
pines of Old Town Pinehurst is a storied
authentic American tavern—Drum & Quill.
“Drum” represents famous golf writer Bob
Drum and the “Quill” pen was what he used
to immortalize Arnold Palmer as they founded
Golf’s Professional Grand Slam.
With one of the area’s largest spirits
collections paired with casual dining favorites,
the authentic pub atmosphere is a cozy place
to settle down with friends to enjoy a classic
cocktail or a bite to eat.
If you like your casual dining served with
something shaken, stirred or on tap, then head
to Drum & Quill. ☐

Meet A Dog’s Best Friend
The furry friends come and go as Mr.
Bruce Warner, owner of a Dog’s Best Friend in
Southern Pines, sits down for a visit. As we talk,
the excitement level is through the roof as dog
owners reunite with their happy fur babies.
Other clients stop in to drop off their dogs for a
play date at daycare while they go to work, run
errands, or play golf.
Conveniently located in the heart of town
on Pinehurst Avenue, a Dog’s Best Friend offers
three main areas of service as follows: day
care, boarding and grooming. With specialized
options available, a Dog’s Best Friend works with
dog owners to ensure an exceptional experience.
Warner shares, “Our day care is a popular option
in this day and age as we host anywhere from
40-60 dogs each day.”
Established in 1999, a Dog’s Best Friend
has been serving local pet owners and their fur
babies for 20 years. As Bruce Warner shares his
expertise, gather around as we talk and the dogs
bark.
Daycare. Let’s talk about the daycare service.
Our daycare serves our working folks, military
and hospital staff who are dog owners. We
provide early drop off and late pick up options
to accommodate unusual work hours.
What is involved in daycare? The dogs are
active all day long. They come in happy, play
hard all day and go home tired and happy. We
put the dogs in small play groups so they get
socialization and interaction during the day.
We offer both half day and regular day care.
With the half day option, clients can drop off
their dog for a few hours while they go to the
grocery store, doctor appointments or anything
like that. We offer a half-day rate of $10. Regular
day care is $18 a day. We offer multiple discounts
for military, hospital staff and 10 & 20 day
packages.
Do you personalize the service per client?
Yes. Absolutely.
