Supports Airmen, Seeks Membership

(AFSA) has advocated for one of the U.S. Air Force’s most
important assets, its past and present enlisted force and their
families.
The AFSA Chapter 452 (the Chapter) at Dobbins Air Reserve
Base (Dobbins ARB) in Marietta, Georgia, strives to carry out the
AFSA mission, advocating improved quality of life and economic
fairness that will support the well-being of its enlisted personnel
at the grassroots level through various activities.
The Chapter is involved with the Dobbins leadership, and is
always looking at ways to help improve the quality of life of
deployed.
The Chapter helps sponsor and participates in the Warriors’
Golf Tournament organized by the Dobbins Chiefs Group to raise
funds for our enlisted members. Along with donating to Dobbins
causes, the Chapter members also volunteer in fundraising efforts
by other organizations on base.
The Chapter was an integral part in founding, funding, and
memorializing the Dobbins POW/MIA Memorial Park. It has
provided funding and personnel to support base activities and
groups, recognized Airmen achievements, provided food and
funds for holiday meals, and hosted an annual cookout for Air
Force Reservists.

Master Sgt. (Ret) Angel L. Almodovar, president of the Chapter.

Chartered in the early 1980s, the Chapter is part of AFSA
Division 2 that comprises Alabama, District of Columbia,
Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina,
Tennessee, and Virginia. The Chapter covers the Atlanta area and
northern Georgia, and currently has about 900 assigned members.
It has a long history at Dobbins ARB.
Some of the AFSA national legislative priorities for 2019-
2020 include Military Healthcare; Education; Military Pay and
Survivors; and Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Veteran
of Georgia’s legislature as it relates to service members living in
Georgia.

a member to attend our meetings, but membership dues are
in AFSA.”
Wednesday of the last month of the quarter. Upcoming meetings
are scheduled for December 4, 2019 and March 4, 2020 at the
Consolidated Club, Dobbins ARB. The Chapter also participates
in division and national level AFSA conferences held throughout
the year.
