Modern society could not function without the protection of law enforcement officers, the assistance of
emergency responders, or support for those who are unable to help themselves. Employment within public
service includes positions in professions such as law enforcement, legal services, firefighting, and social
services. PHSC’s public service degree and certificate programs are designed to challenge students to think
critically and strategize independently and in a team environment. Some public service programs
allow students to advance into four-year degree programs.
