With 17 entries and nine different manufacturers, the GTD
class at Sebring will again be an ultra-competitive battle the
entire 12 Hours.
Lamborghini has been the manufacturer to beat the past two
years at Sebring. After winning the fi rst race of the year at Daytona,
as many as fi ve Lamborghini teams will be on hand here
at Sebring. The No. 48 Paul Miller Racing team looks to be the
favorite with Bryan Sellers, Madison Snow and Corey Lewis at
the wheel.
Other top Lamborghini teams will include the defending Sebring
champion GRT Grasser team (No. 11), the No. 44 Magnus team
and the No. 19 Gear team that features the all-female driving
squad that includes veteran IMSA competitors Christina Nielsen
and Katherine Legge.
At least three Porsche teams are expected to contest for GTD
honors, led by the No. 16 Wright Motorsports team with drivers
Patrick long, Ryan Hardwick and Anthony Imperato. The No. 9
Pfaff Motorsports entry and the No. 54 Black Swan team should
also be in contention for the win at a circuit Porsche has scored
over 70 class wins.
Riley Motorsports (No. 74) will represent Mercedes-AMG at
Sebring with drivers Lawson Aschenbach, Gar Robinson and
Ben Keating.
The two-car Lexus team (No. 12 & No. 14) has a driver lineup
that includes Jack Hawksworth, Parker Chase, Michael De
Quesada, Frankie Montecalvo, Townsend Bell and Shane van
Gisbergen.
Acura will bring two NSX GT3 entries to Sebring (see page 92).
The No. 57 Heinricher Racing team and the No. 86 Meyer Shank
entry will be among the favorites. Mario Farnbacher, Matt Mc-
Murry, Misha Goikhberg and Alvaro Parente are expected to be
among the drivers.
Veteran Bill Auberlen will be starting his 27th Sebring 12-hour
this weekend (one shy of the record held by Hurley Haywood)
in the No. 96 Turner Motorsports BMW with Jens Klingman and
Robby Foley.
