Light: Lots of light reduces stress.
Interior Dividers: Dividers, posts, and butt/breast bars should remove
easily and quickly, especially under adverse conditions.
Floor: Quality rubber mats provide tremendous relief to horses’ legs,
especially on long trips.
Lights: Lots of exterior lights and turn signals are a must for today’s
crowed road.
Additional Exits: Horses need way out if the main exit is
compromised.
Quiet: Interior rattles can rattle a horse. Insulation will control exterior
road noise and temperature.
Unifying Principle: Ask the manufacturer for the company’s unifying
principle. If it has the words, safety, well-being, and horse in it, you’re on
the right track.
SUMMARY
The wrong trailer is no deal at any price. Don’t skimp on what you
spend for a horse trailer. Do the research on what makes a trailer safe.
Check which used trailers are most popular. Find out which trailers hold
up in accidents. When the right trailer shows up that will give you both
financial and intrinsic value, don’t give the price a second thought. Just
buy it. After all, it’s your horses, family, and friends who are stake.
“QUALITY GOES ON LONG AFTER PRICE IS FORGOTTEN.”
