With its mix of resort, urban,
and suburban areas, Orlando is
able to accommodate foreign
buyers’ ever-changing location
preferences. Forty-four of
Florida’s international buyers
selected to purchase in a central
city/urban area, with another
35 percent selecting a suburban
area. Only 15 percent purchased
in a resort area during the 2019
study period, down from a high
of 53 percent a decade ago.
This drop is consistent with the
declining share of Canadian
and U.K. buyers, who have
traditionally preferred such
locations.
Among all Florida’s foreign
buyers, 43% opted for a condo,
followed by 39% going for
single-family homes. Most
Colombians (44%) prefer
single-family homes while
most Argentinians (59%) prefer
condos.
