“Historic downtown Venice features over 100
locally owned and operated stores and over
30 restaurants.
“Boutique clothing, unique gifts, Venice

I Spy a Mermaid?
Or perhaps it’s a seahorse. Chances are
while strolling through the tranquil streets
of Venice, you will bump into a mermaid, or
perhaps a seahorse or two. The FantaSea
Venice Project is a public art program with
proceeds benefi ting the Venice Arts Center.
Adding to the magical whimsy are 25
fi berglass mermaids and 25 seahorses that
are currently being installed, and will appear
on city streets, parks, lobbies, and businesses
around the Venice area.
Also known as the “Shark Tooth Capital
of the World,” Venice hosts the Shark’s
Tooth Festival every year to celebrate the
abundance of fossilized shark teeth that can
be found on its coastal shores. If shark tooth
hunting isn’t your thing, you don’t have to
walk the beaches of Venice to fi nd treasure.
