This summer season, you can get up close
and other sea creatures when you join the
Monmouth County Park System’s Seining Along
Sandy Hook Bay series. The seining activities
will be held at Bayshore Waterfront Park in Port
Monmouth from 11 am to noon on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays, now through Aug. 27.
Seining is done using a large net with

will be on hand to work with those who are seining
the water to identify the aquatic creatures
caught. This free program is a great time for families
and individuals, and it’s open to all ages
(under 18 with an adult). Weather permitting,
participants should meet on the beach near the
parking lot. Closed-toe shoes are required.
