JENNIFER INTERVIEW WITH
GREY
Jennifer Grey, made her acting debut
in 1984 in the film Reckless and, of
course, gained worldwide recognition
for her role as Jeanie Bueller in the
comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
She subsequently earned critical
acclaim for starring as Frances
"Baby" Houseman in the romantic
drama, Dirty Dancing, for which she
received the Golden Globe Award
nomination. Her other feature films
include Red Dawn, The Cotton Club,
Bloodhounds of Broadway, Bounce,
and Bittersweet Symphony.
Gary Barg: Hi Jennifer, can you tell me about the Flu
Shot Friday's campaign, how it will work and who's it for?
Jennifer Grey: Sanofi Pasteur came to me and asked
me if I would participate in the campaign. I said yes, as I
don't do anything that doesn't resonate with me and that
I don't believe in wholeheartedly. I did a little research
and saw that the CDC is predicting a particularly brutal
flu season this year. For a few reasons, one of them
being that no one really had the flu last year, so there
was really no 2020 flu season and because of that,
people's immunity this year is much lower.
Add to that we're now relaxing all of the things that
were in place last year like social distancing, fevered
hand washing and masking. Now that people are so
anxious to be together and get back to normal life, they
are relaxing all of those constraints and the Centers for
Disease Control (CDC) are concerned that it's going to
be a very bad year.
