Objections against Islam is nothing new. It started
with Quraysh but continues with an incessant cabal
of adherents whose cause has transcended time
and race, and will continue until Satan’s divine reprieve
expires.
But this is nothing to lose hope or sleep over. Abul Hasan
al-Ash‘ari rose up in his time against the Mutazilites, then
Imam Ghazali against the Batinites in his times and Imam
Ibn Taymiya against the Rafidites and the countless others
who defended the deen with rebuttals and firm conviction
throughout the centuries. For every fitna and time, Allah
appoints guardians to eradicate the doubts and wrongful
interpretations made to cast aspersions on Islam.
For more than a century, orientalists have been combing
through the classical texts and works of Islam to prove its
fallibility. However scientific their objections may appear,
the fact is that they are based on inbred cultural biases
against Islam, which discounts any possibility of honest
and objective analyses. One obscene objection that has
gathered steam in the past century is the taunt against
the person of the Prophet a being immoral for marrying
‘Ayesha j when she was still young. M. Dawud Alcox in his
article High Moral Ground dissects the specious arguments
that substantiate this fallacy.
M. Omar Baig’s Principles and Applications highlights an important
principle: how to recognize a true investment.
