There is also the convenience aspect for
patients. Outpatient settings are generally
easier to get to and navigate, and the
doctors and staff are more focused on
the patient—without the distraction of
emergency cases.
UFE is covered by most insurance and is
recommended by the American College
of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a nonsurgical
alternative to hysterectomy.

Latoya was initially given medication to
control the bleeding, but after that didn’t
work, she was informed about UFE by her
gynecologist. This led her to Lakeland Vascular
