A Note To Self By Lori Elaine Porter
To Self: Thanks for hanging in there and no giving up on yourself, God, family and friends. Thanks for fighting when there was no fight
left in you; searching for light when darkness surrounded you; smiling in pain holding back tears and even when the tears would drop,
you displayed dignity and strength; hoping when others felt all hope was gone; showing up instead of hiding out; standing in support of
others when you barely had enough stamina to stand for yourself; working, fighting, and believing; getting out of bed the next day,
pushing forward even though you didn’t know what your end would be, you didn’t know how you were going to make it. Thanks for
not throwing in the towel in hopes of ending it all. And most importantly, thanks for trusting in the almighty God who is in all matters
covering, protecting, carrying, and shielding you to keep you safe. Self, you’re a trooper anchored in the Lord and focused on His Word
“Only God! The God who equips me with strength and makes my way perfect” Psalm 18:32 CEB. Self, keep holding on. So PROUD
of you.
Just as Paul wrote a letter to encourage his friends in Philippi, allow this note to encourage you today, “Being confident of this very
thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 KJV
Here on earth you will experience many different seasons and cycles. However, God has the final say and it’s not over until He says it’s
over. Follow David’s example found in I Samuel 30:6, speak life to your dead situation. Shall it live again? Encourage your own self
in the Lord.
As a Believer, you’re a royal priesthood endowed with many special gifts and chosen to proclaim His praise, “You, Blessed Spirit, gives
a variety of gifts, distributing to each one individually just as You will, giving to each one the manifestation for the common good.”
I Corinthians 12:4, 11, 7
God, we thank You for every season of life. You supply all our needs. Your grace is sufficient. Even in our weakness, Your power rests
upon us and gives strength. New mercy each beautiful morning gives hope for the day, “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
The LORD’S lovingkindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your
faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23 NASB
For this Lord, we give You honor, glory, and praise
