DR. STEVE KRIST '69
JESUIT PERSPECTIVES • WINTER 2018-19 37
1899 BEQUEST SOCIETY
Long before he arrived on
campus, Dr. Steve Krist ’69
School.
“My father, uncles, and cousins attended
Jesuit before me, so I always
wanted to follow in their footsteps,”
Krist said.
Now, nearly 50 years after graduation,
he is still deeply intertwined
with Jesuit.
Krist has long been a leader and
generous in his support of the
school, giving of his time, talent,
and treasure. In 2012-13 he was
named the school’s Alumnus of the
Year, and this past year he joined
Jesuit’s 1899 Bequest Society.
Bequest Society members are
those who have indicated in writing
that they have made provisions
for Jesuit in their will or estate
plans. Krist is leaving an estate gift
for Jesuit.
“Ardath (Krist’s wife) and I were
updating our will, so it was the
perfect time to do what we had
always intended to do,” Krist said.
“We decided to give to Jesuit a percentage
of our estate.
“We want to continue to help Jesuit
give young men a solid foundation
for making positive life choices
fellow man throughout the world.”
When not attending to his dental
practice, Krist is active in the
Tampa community and with Jesuit
spending time with his wife, three
daughters, and seven grandchildren
while continuing to seek ways
to make an impact.
“I love doing missionary work,”
Krist said. “I have had the opportunity
to do a dental mission six
times to India and six times to
my year.”
This fall, Krist took part in a very
special commemoration: The 1968
State Champion Jesuit football
team celebrated its 50th anniver-
Hillsborough County school to win
a football state title. And though

recognized at Jesuit’s September 14
football game. It was a remarkable
demonstration of fellowship and
brotherhood given the passage of
“Playing high school football for
and being a part of a State Championship
football team was the
pinnacle,” Krist said. “My fondest
memories are without a doubt the
with my classmates and faculty.”
We want to continue to help Jesuit
give young men a solid foundation
for making positive life choices and
finding value in helping their fellow
man throughout the world.
