As with any healthcare provider,
communication is a crucial aspect of
your doctor being able to understand
your health, diagnosis, and to properly create
a plan for your treatment and healing. Though
technology is vital to our times, technology
doesn’t replace you communicating to your
doctor what you are feeling, the details of
symptoms, and your level of pain.
At Advanced Spinal Care Chiropractic
Medical Spa in Lakeland, FL, Dr. Bradley
Bartel uses state-of-the-art technology and
techniques to provide the best care for your
needs with a very personalized approach.
“Chiropractic is not a one-time fix, nor is
it a one-size-fits-all plan” says Dr. Brad. “In
most cases the pain didn’t begin overnight,
so it isn’t going to end overnight either. From
a total wellness approach, we want to look at
all factors from the patient’s overall health to
their daily aggravations that might be affecting
their healing process, and come up with a
personalized treatment plan.”
Dr. Brad grew up in the medical field with
his father being a dentist, so the gratification
of helping others through wellness stemmed
from his father’s example. Correspondingly,
his parents have always been believers in
the benefits of chiropractic care as well. He
was treated with chiropractic care through
his childhood and even recalls the relief
he received after a sports injury from
playing basketball. Chiropractic care was
most intriguing to Dr. Brad because it is
synonymous with his holistic perspective on
health and wellness. Treating patients and
improving not only their health, but their
overall lifestyle without medicine is the most
rewarding part of his career. He graduated
from Polk State College and went on to
complete his pre-medical studies at Florida
Southern College. Dr. Brad graduated cum
laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic
and tries to give back whenever possible. Dr.
Brad is so grateful to serve the community
he was raised in by being a member of
The Patriot Project, a program that gives
free chiropractic care to active duty service
members and veterans. Each military patient
seen through the project has their health
managed from start to finish by Dr. Brad.
Though chiropractic care is often thought of
as mainly manual manipulation (adjustments)
of vertebrae affecting the musculoskeletal
system, there is so much more to chiropractic
than the stereotypical snap, crackle, or
popping that first comes to mind. At
Advanced Spinal Care Chiropractic Medical
Spa, you’ll find the widest range of care and
techniques from a well-rounded team that
seems like family. Care includes chiropractic,
massage, and even weight loss. Dr. Brad uses
spinal decompression therapy, and is trained
in techniques such as Flexion-distraction,
Gonstead and Diversified manipulation.
Additionally, he utilizes the Thompson Drop
Table, Activator, extremity techniques, and
is very knowledgeable in clinical nutrition.
Chiropractic care is for everyone: women
(even during pregnancy), men, kids, and
athletes can all improve from its benefits.
Advanced Spinal Care is proud to be so wellrounded
and uniquely serves as a surgical
prevention center for injuries to the spine.
Dr. Brad explains, “each and every day we deal
with disc conditions (including bulging or
herniated discs) and numbness, tingling, and
radiation of pain. Our goal is getting patients
pain-free and as close to, if not completely,
healed of their injuries and musculoskeletal
issues.” Patients come in for a comprehensive
neurological exam, history, and X-rays.
Education is one of the most important
aspects of treatment and goes back to the need
for good communication between doctor and
patient. Simply understanding how your daily
ergonomics such as lifting properly by using
knees and not your low back, the position
of your chair at work and type of chair, and
even how you drive in your car, are some of
the things that can influence your pain and
affect your recovery.
