The defi nition of the wonder of
nature changes dramatically from
person to person. For some it is
the beauty of a sunrise or sunset. For
others, it might be the majestic roar
of the Gulf of Mexico on a stormy day,
or the calming affect that peaceful,
still waters in a backwater bayou elicit.
For some it is the intricate pattern on
a fl ower, or the dusting of pollen on a
bee.
For others, though, the highest
form of appreciation of things natural
is in how things work, and how they
function. You could call it the “bare
bones” study of nature, if you will. It
might not be the prettiest side of the
natural world to many, but for some,
it is a pure art form.
